Julia Hilton’s earthwork sculpture in Peel Park takes nature’s pattern as its inspiration.

Viewed from above, this earthwork is loosely the shape of a bud and leaf unfurling into a spiral mound, taking the view up to a curved brick seating area.

The seating area houses a series of stainless steel panels etched with life size images of the leaves of all the tree species found in the park. The flower beds are planted with aromatic herbs, such as lavender, rosemary and sage, creating a pattern in gold, silver and purple.
