The Irwell Sculpture trail project for Ordsall is a community based scheme where artists Louise Brookes, Sam Ingleson and Chris Leach were invited to Ordsall to produce public art work with a community focus.

Louise Brookes produced a plaque that signifies the geographical heart of the area and is designed to act as a testament to the areas historical routes whilst at the same time highlighting its relationship with the wider world. Louise installed the plaque at the corner of the park which she found to be the approximate centre of Ordsall (Images right, first from top).

Sam Ingleson and Chris Leach produced a prototype for a board game with local residents, which focus on local people, places and personal stories (Images right, Second from top).

The Ordsall community scheme resulted in a Balloon Launch event which was held on the 9th March 2003. The event consisted of a healthy walk to show people the area, a balloon launch, a visit to Louise Brooke’s Ordsall Hall plaque and Sam Ingleson and Chris Leach’s board game.
